Ride Badly - Win a Prize

Before I do anything I should point out that I very much enjoyed The Germs on Monday night. All except for one of the support bands who were a little like watching your Dad and Uncle rock out together, and not in a particularly good way.

It was good to be back in control of my own destiny and on a bike again. It’s also nice to feel that the collection of rubber items I bought recently will get some use. Every part of a bike wears out eventually, but it’s inner tubes and brake pads that you end up buying the most often and which seem to wear out for fun.

Talking of fun, it turns out that a number of tickets issued by the Police in various London boroughs can be traded in for a go in a big truck. It’s all in the interest of learning and safety, to gain an appreciation of how little an HGV driver can see of a cyclist sneaking past them, even with all the required mirrors and things, but it sounds like fun. Who hasn’t wanted to pretend to drive a lorry? In addition you get the fun of breaking the law, or riding irresponsibly to qualify you for a chance to do it. I’m going to see if I can get me a place on my way home I reckon.*

* For legal purposes I should point out that I’m not really going to do this. It is irresponsible and wrong (and the offer has already ended.)
