Right, here we go. I’m going to get bike fit.
I am probably the most un(bike)fit I’ve ever been. Over the winter I stopped riding to work for the first time in years and this has removed an incredible amount of fitness. Along with a health scare that is thankfully now resolved, this has seriously hampered my fun non-commuting riding this summer. I am determined to be in shit hot form next summer.
My plan is to turn my daily drudge to work into a dynamic training event. Using the stopwatch on my phone I have recorded how long the ride takes. Starting last Tuesday, I pushed pretty hard and came up with a time of 23:57. The ride is 4.9 miles (luckily, any further and we would have to rename the blog in the interests of journalistic integrity) and I think it lends itself to this exercise pretty well. It has one proper hill, one slight hill and a drag. The rest is flat.
I’ll keep a note of my times and push as hard as I can. Hopefully over the next couple of months there will be some improvement. I’ll keep you all enthralled with my progress; there will be graphs and everything.
